Historical Tour of San Antonio Social Road Rally

Rusty Nail

About this event

San Antonio has had more battles fought within it's city limits than any other town in North America. These battles occurred while San Antonio was under the jurisdiction of Spain, the Republic of Mexico, the Republic of Texas, and  the United States. This Road Rally will take you to the approximate location of each site however, the exact location of some of the sites is not known and other sites ranged over several miles. If you want a more detailed investigation of any site, you are encouraged to revisit site(s) on you own and at your convenience. The oldest two sites date from 1813 and the latest site dates from the 1870s.

This is a non-speed social Road Rally whose route will be along city streets and speed bumps may be an issue for some cars. We will start on the west side of San Antonio at the Rusty Nail, 15122 Potranco Road, with registration between 1:00 and 2:00 PM, After a safety briefing, cars will be released at intervals to proceed to the far south side before completing our tour just north of downtown. It should take between 90 minutes and two hours for this Road Rally as you learn about the history of San Antonio.  Questions will be asked along the way but awards will not be based on questions or on a cars finish position. This Road Rally is meant to be a fun social outing and learning event. Children are welcome.

The Social Road Rally fee for this event is $25.00 (the same for both SCCA members and non-SCCA  members).

The GOAL of the SCCA is to Have Fun with Cars!
