About this event
PLEASE READ OVER THE ENTIRE EVENT WRITE-UP, there is lots of info here that will help you with registration.
The North Carolina Region SCCA is proud to announce the 2024 North Carolina Autocross Championship! NCAC is an annual event that rotates between the five North Carolina autocross clubs; North Carolina Region SCCA, Central Carolinas Region SCCA, Highlands Sports Car Club, Triad Sports Car Club, and Tarheel Sports Car Club. 2024 is NCR’s third time hosting NCAC, so in celebration of this milestone we’re going to our premier autocross site: the Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point in Havelock, North Carolina. The event dates are October 12th & 13th. At Cherry Point we battle it out on the Foxtrot Taxiway. This is a mile long stretch of asphalt that is sure to excite anyone who’s ever carved through autocross cones. It is truly a phenomenal site, but it comes with some specific requirements from the Marine Corps to let us use it. Also, you will not be charged until the event, you will not be charged unless you show up and check in to drive. Therefore please sign up and encourage others to do so.
EVERYONE MUST PRE-REGISTER. PRE-REGISTRATION FOR NON-BASE PERSONNEL WILL CLOSE 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE EVENT ON SEPTEMBER 25!
Be sure to Join the NCR SOLO page on FaceBook at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089520852535&mibextid=ZbWKwL
Event requirements
EVERYONE MUST PRE-REGISTER TO GET ON BASE. MCAS Cherry Point is a restricted-access active Military base. Registration WILL CLOSE Wednesday September 25th at MIDNIGHT for Non-Base Personnel. If you are not pre-registered by then you will not be on the Gate-Access List and you will not be able to participate. NO EXCEPTIONS. Pre-Register or you will not be able to autocross.
Spectators must pre-register using the Spectator Only Status during registration. There is no charge for spectating this is just to collect info to grant base access.
ALL questions asked by the registration software are MANDATORY, including the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. NCR does nothing with all of this information but send it to the Marine Corps for their background checks.
MCAS Cherry Point has upgraded their base access policies. You MUST HAVE a REAL ID or some other acceptable form of ID (https://www.cherrypoint.marines.mil/Offices/Pass-ID/). It is up to you to ensure you have proper ID to get on base. MCAS Cherry Point can and will turn you away if you do not provide proper ID to get on base. NCR recommends if you have the ability to get a REAL ID to make this process as easy as possible on everyone involved.
Upon arrival to Cherry Point on Saturday morning, all drivers and passengers will have to present their ID to be checked off of the approved Gate Access List. All vehicles and trailers are subject to a search upon entry to the base.
When driving on base speed limits are strictly enforced, 35mph limit means 35 mph, as well as no cell phone use. Please keep in mind that you are a representative of NCR while on base. We have a great working relationship with Cherry Point and don’t want anything jeopardizing our use of the base.
Directions to Foxtrot Taxiway: Enter the base using the Main Gate from Fontana Blvd. Follow Roosevelt Blvd until you pass the end of the big runway (to your right). Take the next right onto Access Rd. You'll pass Duffy Rd on your right, about a 1/4 mile farther there will be a driveway into the woods on your right. That’s the turn onto Foxtrot, it is unmarked other than our “Auto-X” sign, so you have to be looking for it. If you get to Rifle Range Rd you've gone too far.
Overnight parking on site PERMITTED. We have confirmed that we WILL be allowed to leave car/trailers onsite overnight. Only Cars and/or Trailers will be allowed to be left overnight, anything else will have to be on or in the car/trailer and not left on the taxiway. The Taxiway gate will be locked overnight but this does not secure the site. MCAS Cherry Point nor NCR SCCA assumes any responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged items left overnight.
No camping on site.
