Autocross Test & Tune

State Fair Park

About this event

Event Location:

State Fair Park
640 S 84th St
Milwaukee, WI 53214

Season Sponsor:

What is the test and tune?
For those not familiar, a test and tune is an opportunity to test your car and dial in those tire pressures, shock and sway bar settings, alignment, and even ride height and spring changes. There will be two short courses available for testing on, with equal opportunity to work on transitional and steady state sweeper handling.

What about passengers or instructors?
No problem!  Want to get some help from a more experienced driver?  No problem!  Want to show someone less experience how to drive a section?  No problem!

How many runs will I get?
Almost as many as you want. You have all day, so pace yourself.

Who works the course?
Everyone works one 90 minute shift (based on 45 entrants) on the course during the test and tune. When you arrive on site, you can sign up for any time slot available on a first come first served basis. Arrive earlier to increase your chances of getting the time slot you want!

Do I need to have my car tech'd?
Yes, cars will still need a brief safety inspection, and drivers are required to wear helmets.

Can multiple entrants drive the same car?
Yes, although both drivers will still have to register separately and both will work course.

Entry Fees:
$75 for Annual SCCA member pre-registration
$85 for Non-member (includes Weekend Membership for the day)

Basic Event Guidelines and Safety

  1. A valid drivers license is required in order to participate, please bring drivers license with you to registration.  Temporary permits are allowed if parent/guardian remains present while driving.
  2. Please note that our insurance doesn't allow tippy vehicles like SUVs. Please consult the SCCA Solo Rulebook section 3.1 and the beginning of Appendix A or message the registar with questions.
  3. Each driver (including co-drivers) must provide a completed Self-Tech Form to Registration during check-in.
  4. All loose items, snap-on hubcaps, detachable fender skirts, speaker boxes, center caps, and trim rings must be removed.
  5. Closed toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip-flops) while driving.
  6. Helmets are required (list of approved certifications).  If you don't know the rating of your helmet you can look inside for a sticker, just may need to pull back some of the padding to locate the sticker. If you want to purchase a helmet you can look online at places like Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies.
  7. All adults present in the event site (whether they are participating or not) will need to sign the waiver when they arrive on site.
  8. All minors must have a signed waiver.  If there are 2 parents/legal guardians they both need to either sign this waiver while being witnessed by registration or have a notary sign this waiver (must be printed in color) stating they witnessed the signature.  If a parent/legal guardian has sole custody, the Affidavit of Sole Custody must accompany the minor waiver. One parent/legal guardian must be onsite for the entire event.  If on a learner's permit, the parent can either ride along with the student or give written permission to have an instructor ride with them instead.
